As my baby is getting ready to turn ONE, I found this photo of him sleeping soundly in his swaddle at EIGHT MONTHS OLD! Swaddles are truly miraculous - the answer to all sleeping woes. Babies love to be all snug as bugs. He is a big boy, and still fit into our swaddle blankets at 8 months! This one is called O'Henry Swaddle Baby Blanket - Blue Green Clusters.

NW kids Love!

Yay! I was delighted to see our Firecracker Baby diaper bags highlighted in the May issue of NW kids! They really are the most lovely diaper bags - and TOTALLY machine washable!

New Flipside Hats!!

Wahoo! New hats!! And now we have hats for MAMA! How stinking cute are these?! I just adore Kori of Flipside hats, I love working with her, and I LOVE her hats! She designed these just for us. I'm so proud to be able to carry them. They are reversible, so each hat is really TWO hats. The chocolate brown with the red star is the boys' hat - it reverses to a dark denim with a red, white, and blue stripe.

New Hairclips!

We just got these new clips! Aren't they just darling? There are 10 different prints, from matryoshka dolls to flowers to little baby bird tracks, and they come in pony tail holders, as well. A terribly talented lady from corvallis, oregon makes them by hand! I'm photographing them today as much as I can, and I'll have the rest up on the website, too.

I'm having a terrible time not just keeping them all for my daughter! They are so great!

Coming Soon! Twelve Days of Christmas

Starting December 1st, I am going to be showcasing a different charity a day for 12 days. New Christmas Tree Ornaments

I've been making felted bags for a couple of years now. I LOVE FELTING! It is like painting and sculpture only faster. I make little hand bags that are lined with cotton and are bigger, so I thought smaller ones would be great for the tree. The body is a recycled wool sweater that I felted, and the designs are needle felted on. I gave them as gifts last year filled with cellophane bags of candy that I made. They also fit a gift card perfectly. When I was growing up, my parents always put special gifts ON the tree, and these are a lovely little holder for them.

I'm making some great pins in the poinsettia design, too. Right now I'm focusing on getting them done for the swag bags for the Holiday Shopping Soiree that I'm doing on December 6th. Hopefully I'll get enough done that I can put them on here, as well.

Firecracker Baby Diaper Bags

We are working SO hard at getting our new website up and running. It has been a long process, but hopefully it will be worth the wait! We've been scouring the area for the best new designers and would love to hear from more of you if you are interested in being showcased on Cat.

One of the fantastic new products we will have VERY soon are Firecracker Baby diaper bags. These are the brain child of my very good friend (lucky me!) Anne, who was so fed up with the ridiculously expensive diaper bags out there that are WORTHLESS, that she set out to make the perfect AFFORDABLE bag herself! She has worked her various bags into the very best three - a messenger bag, an over the shoulder bag, and a tote bag. All have tons of pockets, magnetic clasps, GORGEOUS fabrics, and are: wait for it: COMPLETELY MACHINE WASHABLE. I mean, honestly, why are diaper bags not machine washable?? (I got a teeeeny tiny spot of desitin on the inside pocket of my uber expensive diaper bag I carried for a few weeks with my son, and that tiny spot smeared all over the inside of my bag, and I never did get it all off.)

Just for Cat in an Apron, Anne has agreed to do CUSTOM bags! You choose the exterior fabric, YOU choose the interior fabric, YOU choose the style that best suits you!! I know. Genious. I'm including a few images of some of the fabrics, and some of her gorgeous bags just to give you a tiny fix until you can have the real thing.

New Products!

We are going to be carrying the coolest damn t-shirts, made by a super cool mom here in town. Wait till you see these! They are incredibly soft, and the applique's are made out of 100% recycled t-shirts. SO stinking cute. We are getting them all ready for the website, and they'll be up for sale in August.

Now if i can just get her to make one for my HUSBAND!
